In response to COVID-19, we’ve re-confirmed with all of our partners that they thoroughly clean and disinfect each piece of equipment prior to shipping it our customers. It’s been standard operating procedure for eTech Rentals to carefully prepare every item that we ship for the best experience possible. In addition to shipping ready-to-use and clean equipment, we encourage you to also take some extra precautions. When possible, do not share equipment. This may require renting more than you anticipated, but it will increase the safety of all participants. If do choose share equipment, please thoroughly clean all components that have shared contact. This would be the faceplate for the VR headset and the keyboard for a laptop. When cleaning, please do not use alcohol or other chemicals on the VR lenses as this can cause damage. If you have any questions about how to keep the equipment clean, please ask the sales rep when you speak with them.

What is a virtual reality rental?
For us, a VR rental is simple. You pay a fee to rent VR headset for a few days. Then, return the equipment with our prepaid shipping label.

How much does virtual reality cost?
eTech Rentals, virtual reality rentals depend on the VR headset needed, your length of rental, and if a computer rental is necessary. Our VR rentals start at $30 a day, with a 3-day minimum.

What’s the difference between an Oculus Go rental and an Oculus Rift rental?
The Oculus Go rental includes an Oculus Go headset, controller, headphones, and charging cables in a carry case. The Oculus Go virtual reality headset can come pre-loaded with some amazing games that you can select. All of these experiences are considered Stationary Virtual Reality.

Stationary VR is a type of experience that allows you to move your head to see the 360-degree world around virtual reality, but physically moving doesn’t change your position in VR. This is a great way to experience VR comfortably. Since you don’t have to move or stand, we recommend using a comfortable swivel chair to sit in virtual reality.

The Oculus Rift rental includes an Oculus Rift VR headset with two Touch Sensors and two Touch controllers. In addition, you can add a VR-ready laptop if you don’t have one already (this laptop is required to make the Oculus Rift work). The laptop with Oculus pre-loaded can come with the games of your choosing. All of these experiences are considered Room-Scale Virtual Reality.

Room Scale VR is a type of experience that allows you to physically move and often can pick up objects in virtual reality. Today, this requires a computer with a high-end graphics card and top-of-the-line processor, and external sensors and controllers. The room-scale rentals (Oculus Rift rental) include everything you need.

What if I already own a laptop and I just want an Oculus Rift VR Headset Rental?
That’s great. The Oculus Rift VR headset price allows you to rent the headset separate from the laptop. The Oculus Rift plus VR ready laptop package includes both the oculus virtual reality glasses and the VR ready gaming laptop. The same applies to the HTC Vive rental. In general, VR rentals are set up so that each component can be rented separately, so if you have any questions, please let us know.

How much does shipping cost?
Shipping will be quoted to you along with your rental. Our partners have bulk-shipping rates, which give you the best price available. If you have your own FedEx or UPS account number, our partners are happy to use that as well.
